Our consulting services and experiences are in the following areas:

• Strategic Management Consulting. We offer independent strategic consulting services to energy industry executives, host governments, and regulatory agencies. Our services include long-range planning, opportunity identification and development, corporate planning reviews, strategy critiques, business unit performance analysis, performance metric development, and benchmarking.

• Merger & Acquisition and Divestment Advice. We advise our clients on how and where to grow their businesses. We develop business screening criteria that allow business acquisition opportunities to be consistently and rigorously tested. We also identify the specific growth opportunities for enhancing particular business criteria, such as financial returns, business volume, risk tolerance, and others.

• Project Feasibility and Execution Strategy. We perform full technical and commercial feasibility reviews for business opportunities and ideas. Our team reviews all types of energy projects and provides cogent assessments of the feasibility of achieving the anticipated business results. We also develop descriptive business plans and execution strategies to guide projects from initial conception to start-up and operation.

• Investment Technical Due Diligence and Investment Analysis. We perform independent technical due diligence reviews of energy projects and technologies. Utilizing our project management expertise, we conduct project construction audits and environmental audits, and analyze project finance disbursements. We also perform complete commercial due diligence reviews of projects with discounted cash-flow modeling.

• Business Strategy Development and Competitor Analysis. Our seasoned professionals provide advice that helps our clients develop successful business strategies. We lead management teams through the analysis of their competitive skills and competencies, market potential, opportunity sets, and competitor analysis - and guide the development of plans necessary to implement the selected strategy.

• Economic, Fiscal, and Tax Term Analysis and Optimization. We analyze discounted cash-flow streams for ongoing and potential projects - especially those containing international fiscal terms or novel incentives. In addition, we provide independent analysis and verification of a project’s claimed economic benefits to investors and to the host government entity. Our clients utilize these analyses for bid preparations and for negotiations on fiscal terms and incentives for project development.

• Hydrocarbon Asset Evaluations and Portfolio Optimization. We offer total economic evaluation of stand-alone or integrated upstream, midstream, pipeline, LNG, and power projects. We conduct an independent assessment of the project’s value, using either the client’s pricing assumptions or our own. We can also determine a project’s current market valuation by taking the project’s economic evaluation and applying a discount or a premium to the value based on present market conditions and our experience.

• Project Cost Estimating and Benchmarking. We estimate capital and operating costs for upstream oil or natural gas filed development projects - both onshore and offshore, anywhere in the world. We benchmark forecasted project costs and construction schedules against best-practice costs and schedules for similar projects. We can also benchmark oil and gas reserves, reserve recovery, production parameters, and transportation parameters.

• Project Planning and Field Development Planning. We offer planning services for conceptual field developments, oil and gas processing, and transportation systems for new discoveries and for planning scenarios. We can provide full-cycle project design, project planning, environmental review, capital cost estimating, and indicative economics.
   
• Commercial, Financial and Operational Improvement.  MCDRS’s consultants assist companies with the process of commercialization, as well as with financial and operational strengthening. We conduct detailed assessments of actual and proposed financial and operational performance and make recommendations on short- and medium-term action plans that can make the project or business unit more commercially viable and/or attractive for financing. These assessments involve significant financial analyses under various scenarios with different financial and operational targets. We can also evaluate the political, regulatory and market environment to ensure that the recommended commercialization options and procedures can most efficiently improve project’s performance.
   
• Litigation Support / Expert Witness.  MCDRS’s consultants provide claim analysis, damage claims assessments, and expert testimony for energy and energy-related litigants. We have significant expertise, both global and domestic, to provide detailed asset analyses and valuations of individual assets or of complete businesses. We provide discovery services and provide both technical and commercial advice to claimants, defendants and their legal teams in negotiating settlements. We are called upon to provide expert reports, and are deposed to give expert testimony, for both litigation and arbitration cases. We help manage, organize, and summarize technical and commercial evidence resulting from the discovery phase of litigation. We have expertise in document management systems and sophisticated, artificial intelligence search tools which can significantly streamline the electronic discovery process, with attendant cost savings and performance improvement.
